once again it's a new year and typically a time to resolve to make changes during the next few months/year/life depending on your determination. since i've had little follow through with resolutions in previous years i decided to set goals this time around. these are all pretty functional goals, as well as, things that i've seriously taken some time to develop. my plan is to not fear changes that come with a new year, but to embrace them. so, with no further ado....
#1 actively work on further developing my relationship with God. this means establishing a quiet time, reading, prayer, more involvement through kingsways (our home church), and random acts of kindness for others to show Jesus' love
#2 do small things for my hubby and continue to plan fun & new date nights each week...i love spending time together, but want to make sure that we switch things up and don't get stuck doing the "same old same old"
#3 start a blog and keep it up to date, my goal within a goal (3a): blog once a week
#4 train for and run indy's mini. the last time i attempted the 13.1 mile run i was sick at mile 3...yuck. maybe it was the heat, or lack of training :o)
#5 send out snail mail. i think it'll be a great way to let my awesome friends/family know just how awesome they are...and, who doesn't enjoy opening the mailbox and seeing something they want to open??
#6 keep up on new education and resources to help my little ones develop as much as possbile. i LOVE my job and want to give helpful and sound advice to the kiddos and families i see each day. a part of me misses school too so my inner nerd looks forward to continuing education
#7 call dave ramsey and yell, "I'M DEBT FREE!!!" just thinking of that phone call makes me smile
#8 read more...fiction is great but non-fiction is really what i need to target here
#9 get out and explore in and around indiana. we have two brand new bicycles sitting in our garage that need to be used...that is, as soon as we purchase a bike rack. minor detail
#10 slow down and enjoy the life that God is providing. i forsee this be the hardest, but steve is great at keeping me accountable in this area.
that wraps up my list. Happy 2010!!
best of luck on this new endeavor and to your growth in 2010!!! much love to you both!
ReplyDeleteGood goals. Maybe one of mine should be to come up with new goals instead of reusing the same ones every year.
ReplyDeleteAnd about your memory...remember all those times we watched movies and you fell asleep and forgot you watched a movie? Oh, wait, of course you don't :)
Is that all?!?! I kind of feel like an under-achiever this year! :)
