fall, part 2

after many expensive years spent at beasley's apple orchard i decided that 2010 would be the year to boycott their apple fest and find a new place for my apple & pumpkin needs. we headed down south to mooresville, picked our own "peck" of apples and found two pumpkins that offered perfect carving palates. tonight i've attempted my first apple pie...to say i've encountered some bumps along the way might be an understatement. there will be no pictures posted of this pie as i may want to forget about it when it finally comes out of the oven. on the bright side, it's really smelling up the house nicely and i now have a few ideas for future pies...i.e. read the reviews of the recipe prior to starting. i was a little too excited and jumped the gun and had to dissemble my pie...twice :o) with the dissembling of the pie i then had to go back to marsh....twice for more ingredients. whoops, better luck next time!

working hard to pick the perfect peck...steve managed to get an action shot jumping.
