update

so i realized that i had 2 different blogs that i neglected to post after i writing them, whoopsy. after review of both i decided to delete one (it was all about how i'm playing fantasy football), so here's a late entry from a week ago. i must've hit save instead of publish post.

i realized recently that it's due time for me to reflect and revisit my goals for 2010. it's been a quick year and soon i'll be celebrating the arrival of my 29th year of life. God has been very good to me this year and here's a brief recap on how He's been working in and through me since january.

#1 (actively develop my relationship with God) steve and i have really found a wonderful group of fellow believers within the kingsway family who we connect with. we've been studying the book of romans in depth and are learning a tremendous amount. at the same time we're realizing how much more there is to discover in God's word. thankfully there are some very strong biblically versed people within in our group so we're learning a lot while also putting in our 2 cents every once in a while.

#2 (do small things for my hubby) not to toot my own horn, but i think i'm doing a fairly good job in this area. ask him, i think he'd agree.

#3 (start a blog) ACHIEVED!!

#4 (train & run the mini marathon) ACHIEVED!!

#5 (send out snail mail) i'm averaging about a card a week...not too shabby. my humor comes from my dad and because of that steve finds a majority of the cards i send super nerdy, but i buy & send them nonetheless...what can i say, my sense of humor comes from my dad. thanks bob markworth.

#6 (educate myself) i've been able to get a little over 30 hrs of continuing education this year. some seminars were well worth my time & money, some were not. since i'm now really enjoying what i do it's been fairly easy to expand my knowledge on pediatric speech & language. i think a long term goal (5-10 years) may be to create a great book for parents that is truly age appropriate for little ones between 0-3 years. that's super long term and completely unrelated to this goal so it's now time to move on to #7.

#7 (call dave ramsey) cash flowing my hubby through grad school has not been easy or cheap...but soon it will be well worth it. so this goal will likely come down to the wire for being achieved this year. till then work work work and pay off the last bit of my lingering student loans so that dave ramsey can hear me yell "i'm debt free!!!!!!!!!!!" oh yes, i will yell.

#8 (read more) i haven't kept a tally but reading has come easy and has been nice this summer. i've visited some new francine rivers books...she's my all time fav, and have read some books for the parents i work with....since i don't have kids i think it's best to give advice from people who do...so i read :o)

#9 (get out & explore) now that we've had our bike rack for a couple months we've been out and about exploring. i've come to the realization that i am not a risk taker. any time we have the option for off roading i opt out. anytime there's the option of riding down a huge hill i ride the brakes...i'm a safe sissy (meaning, that i always don a helmet)

#10 (slow down) hmmmm, this is still an area that i could target a little more. nuff said. i'm not doing great and i'm not doing terribly...comme ci comme ca. (so-so)
