as i've said before, steve and i are actively pursuing our own personal relationships with Jesus Christ. today's service at church really spoke to us both, bringing us to tears, as well as, giving us goose bumps throughout the sermon while celebrating Jesus' resurrection. learning more about the reality and relevance of His sacrifice for us all made for a great start to our Easter morning. something that really spoke specifically to me was a song we sung by casting crowns: glorious day. the chorus has been stuck in my head all day, so singing and resinging these words has helped to provide intermittent reminders of His great sacrifice and also about the biggest piece of evidence that our Christian faith is based from...the empty tomb.
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day
today has been a wonderful Easter for so many reasons. thanks to God for making eternal life with Him possible through His son Jesus. in closing, here's a great verse that i came away with from today that can be found in 1 peter 1: 3-4. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you."
