baby baby baby

earlier today i had the great honor of hostessing a baby shower for my long time friend, joan. by long time, i mean since birth...we're talking 28 years 5 months to be exact. it was by no means a huge shower, 11 ladies total, but i would say it was a great success and also provided a nice opportunity to catch up with high school friends. lots of pink, lots of presents, and lots of chit chat all made for a good time. i had my sister-in-law, annie, paint an adorable door hanger to match the baby's bedding. here's a link to annie's site, she does amazing custom artwork: http://www.pennypickles.net/penny_pickles/welcome.htmland since nearly everyone in attendance appreciates yummy sweet treat ordering cupcakes was a no brainer, and of course there were cookies to take and enjoy at home, duh :o) i want to congratulate joan & jesse and anxiously await meeting their baby girl in 5 short weeks! they will make awesome parents! i'm so happy i was able to host their first shower. she (the baby) will have lots of people who care a lot for her and today was just a small example of the caring and loving friends/aunties she will soon meet. here a few pictures to help remember the special day.
