state fair!

this years state fair celebration/extravaganza/food fest brought about a scary, but true, realization. despite the buildup and talk of all the deep fried goodness i'd be enjoying i ended up devouring one lone corndog (with mustard). that's it! i had my heart set on deep fried pickles, a chocolate shake, and a funnel cake but the summer heat burst my hopes of eating all of the aforementioned food items. not only did i save myself serious calories but also some serious cash! having fun at the state fair comes with a price...$5 parking, $8 per person admission, $5 per carni ride (which yes i did opt for with 3 other brave, and now deaf-thanks to my 2 minute scream fest, soles), and $3.50 corndog...bringing my grand total to $21.50?!?!? whoa. thankfully the tuckers, jon, meg, and my hubby provided lots of laughs for...FREE. all in all it was a great night and well worth the small fortune!
